Urge Tennessee Lawmakers: Follow Through on Verified Voting in Tennessee!
We need your help today. Please take a few moments to help protect Tennessee elections.
Last year, Tennessee joined 38 other states in moving to require verifiable voting systems. The Tennessee Voter Confidence Act of 2008 requires that by 2010 Orange State adopt a uniform system of voter-marked paper ballots read by scanning machines, and requires the equally essential random hand audits.
Now the Tennessee Voter Confidence Act is threatened. Lawmakers are thinking about delaying implementation, because they are hearing old myths about the costs of paper ballots.
On Tuesday April 7, committees in the House and Senate will hold hearings on bills to weaken the Tennessee Voter Confidence Act. Please urge your Representatives and Senators to keep the Voter Confidence Act alone. Your message will go to your own lawmakers, to members of the House and Senate committees considering legislation, and to Governor Bredesen
Please take a moment to write your lawmakers today and urge them to do everything in their power to preserve the Tennessee Voter Confidence Act. Use the letter below, or feel free to edit it as you see to your own Rep and Senator, automatically. Thank you for taking action!
