"The core of our American democracy is the right to vote. Implicit in that right is the notion that that vote be private, that vote be secure, and that vote be counted as it was intended when it was cast by the voter. And I think what we're encountering is a pivotal moment in our democracy where all of that is being called into question." (more here)

Make Paper Ballots The Law in Massachusetts

Massachusetts lawmakers will consider this week an excellent piece of legislation to promote accessible and verifiable elections. H670 would establish that all elections in Masschusetts be conduced on voter-marked paper ballots. As things stand, Secretary of State Galvin has decreed that Massachusetts use only paper ballot voting systems, but H670 makes paper ballots a requirement of law rather than just a wise administrative choice.

Please fill out the form below to send a message to your legislators to support H670. Edit the message prepared as you see fit. With your help, Massachusetts will have a reliable, verifiable vote in 2008!
