February 09, 2010 Subject: I wish to appeal to you on behalf of KENNETH FOSTER who is due to be executed on August 30, 2007. My sympathies go out to the family and loved ones of Michael LaHood, and I agree this was a very tragic event that cannot go unpunished. However, the inescapable fact of this crime is that KENNETH FOSTER did not actually shoot LaHood. However under Texas Law of the Parties, Foster has beeen unjustly sentenced to die for a crime he did not commit. Also, since Fosters imprisionment he has made gains to better himself while on death row, he is involved in the prisoners' rights movement and is also an organizer among death row inmates. The the death penalty—which only serves to create more victims and perpetuate a cycle of violence—is not the right punishment for KENNETH FOSTER. Executing KENNETH FOSTER would violate the right to life as proclaimed in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and constitute the ultimate cruel, inhuman, and degrading punishment.
