As the importance of Internet communications continues to grow in the political realm, Governor-elect sends over two million e-mails, raises $1.1 million online.
WASHINGTON, D.C. -- Virginia Governor-elect Tim Kaine used the DemocracyInAction.com online campaign platform to help clinch his victory at the polls last night. From the start of the year, DemocracyInAction.com has helped the Kaine campaign project a sophisticated online presence for communicating with supporters, managing events and raising money.
Since kicking off in March, the Kaine campaign has sent over two million e-mail messages through DemocracyInAction.com, nearly half of them during the last month of the campaign. Most of the campaign's e-mail blasts were precisely targeted to local communities around specific Kaine events and meet-ups, some 250 of which were organized through DemocracyInAction.com.
DemocracyInAction.com also processed over $1.1 million in mostly small-dollar online contributions for the campaign.
"We're proud to have played a part in electing a Democratic governor in Virginia," said DemocracyInAction CEO Chris Lundberg. "The value we're delivering through these tools is increasingly indispensable in the political arena. Political campaigns' use of the Internet will only increase in the next election cycle."
DemocracyInAction.com, a socially conscious for-profit business, provides cutting-edge online campaign tools to political campaigns, PACs, parties, 527s and other progressive interest groups.
