DemocracyInAction Seeking Interns for 2006!
Be part of a small, energetic nonprofit organization that provides online advocacy tools to help other nonprofit organizations successfully grow and organize online.
We're recruiting two paid intern positions for the winter/spring terms of the 2006 school year, and for the summer of 2006:
| Web Development Intern, DemocracyInAction.org ( DemocracyInAction.org is looking for a part- or full-time paid intern (we're flexible on hours) with technical skills to assist in the development of web outreach tools and provide technical support to a wide range of advocacy organizations. This is a great opportunity to sharpen your tech skills and work for some great causes at the same time. - Gaining knowledge of the DIA platform of advocacy tools -
Development work on advocacy tools - Providing some technical support (i.e. helping organizations with data transfer) Requirements: - Some experience working with web-based services and technologies. - Understanding of the nonprofit sector and advocacy organizations is a huge plus. - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills - Self motivation and ability to work in fast-paced environment - HTML knowledge; basic knowledge of databases - Knowledge of other open source technologies strongly desired (Java, PHP) Please send resumes to info@democracyinaction.org.

Marketing & Outreach Intern, DemocracyInAction.org (
DemocracyInAction.org is looking for a part- or full-time paid Web Outreach intern (we're flexible on hours) who will assist in the expansion of the DIA user base and gain experience in online organizing methods and technologies. The position will involve working with a wide range of progressive organizations doing online organizing.
- Gaining knowledge of the DIA platform
- Assist in the development of marketing materials
- Outreach to organizations who could benefit from DIA
- Participate in DIA trainings and strategy sessions
Qualifications:
- Candidates should be comfortable with web-based technologies (expert knowledge not necessary)
- Understanding of the nonprofit sector and the particular tech needs of advocacy organizations is a huge plus.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Self motivation and ability to work in fast-paced environment
