Tell Congress: PASS the GSE bill with the new AFFORDABLE HOUSING FUND!
In communities across the country, families face a critical shortage of affordable housing. But we have a chance to get new money to build, preserve, and rehabilitate housing that the lowest income families can afford.
A bill is moving through Congress (H.R. 1461) that requires Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac put 5 percent of their after-tax profits into an Affordable Housing Fund to support housing production for extremely and very low income families.
Similar legislation is expected in the Senate shortly. But the forces opposing us are powerful.
Every Senator and Representative must hear from their constituents about how important it is that he or she votes for the Affordable Housing Fund. Send the letter below to your Senators and Representative.
