Appropriations Season: NOAA Conclusion for FY 2006!

Today, President Bush signed into law the FY 2006 Science, State, Justice, and Commerce appropriations bill--the funding measure that controls the budget for NOAA and its environmental literacy program.

Although the President had earlier proposed eliminating this program, Congress chose instead to maintain it. As a result, NOAA will be able to continue this environmental education initiative for an additional year, including its grant-making component.
