Appropriations Season: Updates from Capitol Hill

horizontal dots

This week, President Bush signed into law the FY 2006 spending bill that controls funding for the EPA's Office of Environmental Education (OEE). Included in the bill is $9 million in funding for the EPA's Office of Environmental Education.

A few short months ago, the OEE was under threat of complete elimination due to a lack of federal funding for next year. But, thanks in part to the actions of thousands of OEE advocates across the nation, several Members of Congress decided to do something about it. Now, with $9 million in renewed funding, the OEE will keep its doors open for another year.

Here at the Campaign for Environmental Literacy, we encourage you to visit our Action Center in order to send your thanks to our Congressional Champions. Please feel welcome to share in your own words why the OEE is so important to our diverse community.
