Appropriations Season: Updates from Capitol Hill

On Friday, June 23rd, House Majority Leader Tom DeLay (R-Texas) confirmed that the Interior conference committee report will indeed be sent to the House floor before the end of the week. Although House conferees have yet to be named to the committee, Appropriations leadership has confirmed the timeline announced by Rep. DeLay, noting that a conference meeting with House and Senate leaders will be likely held tomorrow. (Conference committee work has, to date, been driven largely at the staff level.)
