Nineteen-year old honor student Marie Nazareth González has had her worst fear realized this week. She's going to be deported--unless she gets your help.
Although Marie and her family are tax-paying, churchgoing, law-abiding members of their community, the United States government wants to deport them, and has demanded that they leave the country by Sunday, June 5.
UPDATE: Marie's family has won a short extension of their departure date, to Tuesday, July 5th, the day after Independence Day. This is a one-time extension, so your help is still needed!
The government--specifically President Bush--needs to hear that you support the "DREAM Act," which is legislation that could save Marie and 65,000 other students who are in situations just like hers: kids who were brought to the United States by their undocumented parents by no decision of their own, who have known no other country but America since their childhood, who are educated, on their way to productive careers, who pay taxes--but who face deportation.

Missouri's two Senators (Kit Bond and James Talent) who have the power to help Marie with a private bill on her behalf.

Senator Bill Frist, who as House Majority Leader has the power to bring the "DREAM Act" up for a vote.

Michael Chertoff, the Secretary of Homeland Security, who oversees our country's immigration system and can allow Marie and her family to stay in the United States until the "DREAM Act" is heard by not enforcing her deportation orders.

President Bush can order the Secretary of Homeland Security to intervene.
