"When it comes to global warming, the American people are ahead of America's politicians," said Sen. Joseph Lieberman, I, Conn., co-sponsor of the Climate Security bill along with Sen. John Warner (R-VA) and Sen. Barbara Boxer (D-CA). "They want us to solve it for them, for their children, for their grandchildren, for future generations of America because they do not want American life to be changed."
These are encouraging words but it is time for action not rhetoric. Our Senators must stand up to the fossil fuel industry and support strong and fair solutions to global warming. We must act soon in order to avoid the worst impacts to our shared climate and before the problem becomes too expensive to fix. An effective global warming bill should decrease global warming pollution in a way that favors a clean energy economy, meets science-based standards, and considers American families and workers. Our nation and our coast deserve no less!

>>A new study by George Mason University found that a "majority of American adults viewed climate change as a serious problem that threatens future generations and all life on earth, while only 14% believed it is not a problem." http://www.porternovelli.com/site/pdfs/PN_GMU_Climate_Change_Report.pdf
This week a group of Nobel prize winning economists and thousands of other scientists and economists sent a letter to Congress stating that "the longer we wait, the harder and more costly it will be to limit climate change and to adapt to those impacts that will not be avoided." http://www.ucsusa.org/global_warming/science/scientists-and-economists.html
